Dubbo is accessed via the Great Western/Mitchell Hwys from Sydney, the Newell Hwy from Brisbane & Melbourne the Golden Hwy from Newcastle, and the Lachlan Valley Way/Mitchell Hwy from Canberra. The drive takes approximately 5 – 6 hours from Sydney, 9 hours from Melbourne and Brisbane 5 hours from Newcastle, and 4.5 hours from Canberra.
